Everyone is looking for the perfect relationship. If you ask several people the question 'what is the perfect relationship you would get several different answers. Some would say that partners who share the same interests have the best relationship while others think that having different interests adds spice to a couple's relationship. Some think that sharing secrets to their partner is the key to a healthy relationship and others think that it is being independent from each other. These principles are all true in different situations and in different couples.
The truth is that there is no 'perfect relationship' since nothing is perfect in this world, according to what you always hear. However, what you should look for is a "close to" perfect relationship. The key words there are 'close to' since looking for the perfect relationship will only disappoint you. You can still ask the question 'what is the perfect relationship?' and apply the answers that you will get for you to have an close to perfect relationship.
One important factor for you to have the best relationship with your partner is communication. This has been said over and over again in marriage counseling and love advice columns. You do not have to tell every little thing that you do in your life to your partner but make sure that you communicate the most important things such as major decisions in your life and your feelings about certain things in your relationship.
It is also important that both of you bring out the best in each other. In other words, both of you shine brightly when you are together. You support each other in your endeavors and you boost each other's confidence. However, you do not give fake compliment or encouragement that will only give your partner false hopes or confidence. You should also know how to give constructive criticism in a gentle way. Take a look at this classic example. If your partner is wearing a dress that makes her look fat, and she asks you what you think, you should not bluntly say, 'The dress makes you look fat.' Instead, you should say, 'It looks nice but I like you in your red dress better.' Know when to say a white lie and know when to be straightforward.
Trusting each other is another important answer to your question, 'what is the perfect relationship?' It is important that you trust each other no matter what you do, where you are, or who you are with. If your partner is going out with his friends to drink in a bar, you have to take his word for it. However, both of you have to make sure that you do not give reason for your partner not to trust you. Trust is important but make sure that you deserve it.
There are many other answers to your question 'what is the perfect relationship?' but the tips mentioned above are some of the basic points of having an almost perfect relationship with your partner-good communication, support, and trust.
